Mid-life crisis- Forty and after

Life is all Ā about living. Phases pass, initially we are trying to learn how to live, then we get independent and on our feet šŸ™‚ we become leaders, doers and family makers. We, have our accomplishments and regrets..then it’s time to be a leopard..the Ā strength and experience in life and our work, gives us that towering confidence..but..what makes people get trapped in mid life crisis ?

Is it that they failed to achieve targets ?

they want to be experienced and not age

or they are getting pressurized by family, friends and relatives.

At 40..you are at prime..so please..don’t try to be 20s..just wait and look at yourself..weren’t you a bit weird at twenty now you got style and class…words are flowing and makes sense. Ah! not really šŸ™‚

Well..each age has its advantages and disadvantages..so try to accept that and make the best of it. No worries, just few regular habits would make this smooth transition into 50 s and 60 s.

Couples must get more romantic and less sexy šŸ˜‰ if that what you are afraid of..remember it is the love which means much more than lust..Companionship is warm and comforting.

The feeling of emptiness and loneliness with kids gone from your house makes you feel empty.. ..gives a certain level of depression..but it also gives you more time to concentrate on those things you never had time for..like reading a book without anyone pulling you.

Look at the bright side.. you get the better part to enjoy. yes..playing with the grand kids and spoiling them ;)) revenge .hee hee.

Relax and take life easy, you earned this luxury..but do keep working to afford it for longer time.

Friends and family members die..your group disappears and sometime your spouse is longer with you. Your social circle gets limited. People who used to wait for you are gone..no one remembers you take black coffee in the morning..there is no one who shared their youth with you..or knows what a chubby person you were…they are gone..you are still alive..So remember them but don’t die..you must stay well..get some exercise and take your health more seriously. Bones will give indication, and skin will feel rough.. You had it tough..but you smiled then and now can too..just try..will Ā you?

Arthritis, blood pressure, diabetes etc now has become constant companions..just make sure you tackle them as cleverly and remain healthy..eat healthy and be regular with walks or a good swim. You faced tough times in financial crisis..save some money while you earn and invest wisely..hold on to remaining family , neighbors, relatives and virtual friends. All are sources of inspiration and positive thinking.

One day, you will be gone and this chapter would end..but then..don’t die before you are dead and gone šŸ™‚

Some one will close this door..you left open..some one will follow you beyond life’s threshold.

Rural or Urban

Development is forĀ  progress . Land is part of the resources, used and abused for making life easy. This sometime gets commercialized to a level that land demarcation becomesĀ  difficult. How do we identify rural areas, basically with vast agricultural fields and water bodies. What if cities were to retainĀ  water bodies and develop land such that open spaces remains part of the city ?

This sounds very attractive, but a city must be efficient , the time to commute and deliver is important. hence, cities tend to be made with road network, connections and resources. The denser the business spot, the closer the connections and better the service.

What happens to rural areas or small towns , when neglected? it gets a decay feeling. First the physical condition, in terms of maintenance gets sloppy and slowly, the social vibeĀ  gets disrupted.

Yes. It is the social character that is responsible for the decay and not just the physical aspect of any rural land/ city. Rural land never can decay, for it is always in use, what can get demolished are the old structures , that were needed by the previous land lords but no longer needed by the people now investing in agriculture. Genetics science, has made production of cash crop more than before, so much so the field is never barren.

I think, the rural land is not facing any decay..in fact its value has increased manifold. The older cities are perhaps area for concern, as the previous architecture style and land development has no longer the value, in present market. Denser and higher structures are preferred to low density and old fashioned designs.

of course, architectural heritage is important , but a property revitalization in terms of cash is also a factor, that leads to quick change in urban morphology.

What can then be a solution. I think, a consensus must be found, with majority of population participation.People should be made aware and revitalized, of their heritage and then decide fate of cities.

The re-development or extension must be made as part of the dwellers and not just a top down instruction, where people are left out of the development scenario. This leads to alienation and sense of belonging vanishes.

The connection between inhabitants and land degenerates, and nothingĀ  touches the heart ofĀ  people.

Heart is where the pace is..this pace is for survival of the intelligent real estate investors..when they go for profit margins, there must be level..where they look into quality of space and rates of returns are not the only focus for the development.

We, must save our past from massive destruction, we may loose our heritage for present day high market returns..and in future this may lead to disconnected souls..they wander aimlessly..nothing belongs to them and they now don’t belong where they are originally from..is it not ironic.
